Toronto coach Cummins unlikely to remain in role

Toronto FC's caretaker coach Chris Cummins is unlikely to remain in his role next season.

The Englishman came in and took over the reins when John Carver resigned in late April but he looks certain to return to his homeland to be back with his family.

"I was asked to come in and do a job until the end of the season," said Cummins.

"I've made some mistakes along the way, the same as everyone else.

"Would I be back next season? Listen, there's a fair chance I won't be. My family is back in the U.K. and I need to be with them. Unfortunately, there were things promised to me that I didn't get, and I need to be by my family."

If Cummins does leave, it will be on a sour note as the Reds were demolished 5-0 by the lowly New York Red Bulls in the last match of the season - a win could have clinched a play-offs berth.
