Torino president Urbano Cairo has poured cold water on reports of a deal for Inter Milan attacker Alvaro Recoba.

"I consider him a great player," said Cairo, "but I can assure you that his transfer is a pure journalistic invention. We are considering young players, Italians and non-Italians."
