Torino full back Lorenzo de Silvestri is happy that he is being linked with a move to Newcastle.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez wants to sign de Silvestri as a means of boosting his options in the full back positions.

The 30-year-old was an important player for Torino last season, scoring five goals and getting four assists.

And he gave a recent interview where he said that a move to the Premier League was appealing.

Speaking to Goal.com, De Silvestri said: "I had a great season at Torino and I am glad to see that people have noticed.

"I'm very happy at my club but it's always a pleasure to know that there could be interest from the Premier League."
