Topor-Stanley re-signs with Newcastle Jets

Nikolai Topor-Stanley and the Newcastle Jets have come to an agreement for a new deal.

Last week it was reported that the star centre-half had turned down an offer from the Jets but the club announced today that he had indeed re-signed for two years.

25-year old Topor-Stanley said he was delighted to complete the signing of a new deal which will see him spend at least the next two years with the club he joined from Perth Glory ahead of the 2009/10 season.

"I am really pleased to know that I am in Newcastle for the next two seasons. The club is certainly heading in the right direction and I am happy knowing that I am going to be a part of it," Topor-Stanley said.

Mr Ray Baartz, Chairman of the Jets Football Advisory Board, said the club was pleased to have re-signed Topor-Stanley who was emerging as a strong leader of the club.

"Nikolai has been a rock of our defence this season and he has come a long way in such a short amount of time," he said.

"Nikolai will form the basis of our leadership group over the next two years and is a great role model for our young players that we have coming through."
