Rangers are bracing for an exodus of star players after it was alleged that new owner Charles Green switched the entire squads contracts following their fall into liquidation.
Green has reformed the Ibrox club as The Rangers FC but may begin next season - most likely in Scotland's Third Division - without a lot of the best 'Gers players who are seeking a summer departure.
It is believed that Green has switched the contracts to the newco without permission which top sports lawyer Dr Gregory Ioannidis insists is against the rules.
"The players are not obliged to sign a new agreement with the new company if they do not wish to do so. In terms of football law, they become free agents.""It is a fundamental principle of contract law that no alterations to a contract are allowed unless both parties have given a valid consent and have agreed to such alterations," he said.
It has been suggested that the likes of Steven Davis, Steven Naismith, Allan McGregor and Carlos Bocanegra are among the big names set to depart the Glasgow club.
