New York Red Bull star Juan Pablo Angel was ruing the poor showing by his team in their 1-0 home loss to Seattle Sounders on the weekend.
The Red Bulls did little to test Sounders keeper Kasey Keller and Angel understands it is very hard to win games of football by producing nothing in the way of scoring chances.
"It's hard to describe the feelings right now because it was a very physical game, not much in it for anybody and one chance was basically what changed the game," Angel said. "I cannot recall having, as a team, a chance to test Kasey."
Red Bull midfielder Carl Robinson agreed with Angel, saying it was not good play if most of the team, including their leading scorer, is busy defending deep into the midfield.
"Juan Pablo is a goal scorer and we need him in the area," said Robinson. "We have to look at the whole team, because if Juan Pablo is in our half defending we're too deep as a team, but where does that come from? Does that come from the front two, midfield or back four? That's something we need to work out because he's the best goal scorer in this league and we can't have him defending. We've got to get him in the box because he's going to win games for us."
