Genoa striker Luca Toni has urged Sampdoria rebel Antonio Cassano to join him across town.
Cassano remains on the outer at Samp after a blow-up with president Riccardo Garrone.
Toni said: "It would be a big loss [for the Derby della Lanterna to be without Cassano].
"Anyway, given that I imagine Antonio would like to play it, he can try and call Genoa President Enrico Preziosi and come to play for us "
When asked to comment on Toni's comments, Preziosi said: "It wouldn't be elegant of me to enter into this debate.
"They are facts that regard another club. But Cassano has shown himself to be mature and a champion.
"It seems unjust to me to speak about Cassanate again."
