Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has made a public apology after skipping out on last week's game at halftime.
Toni left before the end of Bayern's clash with Schalke after being hooked at halftime by coach Louis van Gaal.
The Italy international said: "I reiterate my apology in respect to my teammates, the club and all supporters.
"My impulsive behavior last Saturday was something I have never done before in my professional career. This reaction was motivated by aggravation of four long months of discomfort and 'misunderstandings' with the coach Van Gaal."
