Tom Davies receives Koeman praise for outstanding Everton display

Promising midfielder Tom Davies was absolutely outstanding for Everton on Sunday.

The 18-year-old produced a Man of the Match performance in the 4-0 victory over Manchester City at Goodison Park, in a match that also saw him score his first senior goal for the club.

Davies has been impressive in recent times and alongside fellow academy ace Mason Holgate, has been given opportunities by Ronald Koeman to experience first-team football which they have grabbed with both hands.

The Dutchman said: "From the time when he (Davies) came in the team he has had an impact and you don't expect he will score every weekend, but the level he showed in composure on the ball and that aggression...

"It is not all about young players. I like to bring them in, but you can't play with 11 boys. They are for the future.

"But if - like Tom Davies, like (defender) Mason Holgate - they bring the performance and the level, I will be the first to put them on the list."
