Todd not yet ready for action with Perth Glory

Perth Glory defender Andy Todd is not yet ready for action this season according to coach Dave Mitchell.

The 35-year old former Derby County and Blackburn Rovers man has been sidelined by a knee injury for the opening three A-League games for the league leaders.

Mitchell says Todd, last season's Player of the Year at the Glory, will not be rushed into the side to take on Melbourne Heart this Sunday even with another centre-half, Jamie Harnwell, almost certain to miss.

"Andy (Todd) can play but he's probably not quite ready yet," Mitchell said.

"It's one of them, that probably needs another week's training under his belt. We'll see how the week goes, how it pans out.

"(But) we'll have a look at Mitch (Josh Mitchell) in there and Coyne.

| "I think Jamie Harnwell's been fantastic in the centre of defence as has Jamie (Coyne).

"The thing with Jamie Harnwell is his experience and he talks well, he's an organiser ... so you lose a little bit of experience.

"(But) Josh I'm sure, if he comes in will do a good job as well."
