Cheick Tiote says Newcastle United's revival is due to manager Alan Pardew's individual approach.

Regaining his best form, Tiote summed up how well Pardew has his players drilled.

"Everyone has to do their job," said the Ivory Coast star.

"Some players have more quality to pass the ball and to score. My job is to break up the play and pass the ball to my partners. That's what I do best. When you perform like that, you get more confidence in the team, more belief. We expect to compete against the top teams."
