New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream has skipped his honeymoon to complete a move to Bolton Wanderers.
Centre-half Ream is waiting on a work-permit decision, due on Monday, after Coyle confirmed a £2.5million deal has been agreed with New York Red Bulls - and that the defender has had to abandon a luxury trip to the South Seas.
Ream got married during the transfer negotiations and his new wife has allowed him to head to England to finalise the move.
Coyle said: "The Reams were going to Tahiti but they knew this might open and went into this move with their eyes wide open. Fair play to them, they came to sunny Bolton instead!
"It spoke volumes for his desire to come on board. He also had other offers from big clubs but chose to come here."
