New England Revolution have re-signed midfielder Chris Tierney.
The 27-year old, who can also operate as a left-back, has been with the Revs since 2008 and has now signed a new contract with the club although details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Revs general manager was delighted that Tierney could commit himself to the cause after spending the past five-and-a-half seasons in Foxborough.
"Chris is a very versatile player and gives us a lot of options," Burns said.
"He is a great leader on and off the field, and has been one of our most consistent and productive players the last few seasons, so we're very pleased he's decided to sign a new contract to remain in New England."
Tierney, who joined New England via the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft, has made 120 appearances for the club since his arrival.
