Seattle Sounders have sold around 16,500 tickets for their March 7 CONCACAF Champions League meeting with Santos Laguna.

The Sounders host the Mexican club in the quarter-final first leg next Wednesday at CenturyLink Field with a crowd of around 20,000 expected.

Head coach Sigi Schmid has implored the club's fans to show their full support as Seattle look to put in a positive first leg performance ahead of the return fixture at Estadio Corona on March 14.

"We're really looking forward to the game against Santos Laguna; we hope all our fans come out there," Schmid said whose Sounders could be out-attended by Toronto FC who host reigning MLS champs the LA Galaxy.

"We don't want Toronto to be the only guys to have a huge attendance for the Champions League. We want to be there as well."
