Queensland Roar have been dealt a cruel blow through the withdrawal of key players Danny Tiatto and Josh McCloughan from tomorrow night's A-League clash with Adelaide United.
The match has been re-scheduled from Round 16 when the Reds were competing in the FIFA Club World Cup and is vital for both clubs in their chances to clinch the A-League minor premiership.
Queensland are currently sitting in third position and are four points behind league leaders Adelaide and a win to the Roar would their only chance of finishing the home and away season on top.
"It'll be the toughest week for us this season," Roar coach Frank Farina said.
"But the three points in Gosford was a massive three points for us so going into the week to start like that it's a good feeling.
"It was a fantastic result for us on the weekend. It's put us in a situation now where if we can win against Adelaide in Adelaide, we'll have a shot at the premiership I think.
"It'll be gone for us if we get nothing from the Adelaide game but there's a big carrot there.
"If we can win in Adelaide, which is a big call, but if we can win we've got a real good shot at the premiership or the top two."
