Gold coast United's Player of the Year Michael Thwaite says he cannot wait until next season already.
The 27-year old defender/midfielder, who was crowned as club champion on Tuesday night, is already excited about the 2011/12 A-League season after going out in the Preliminary Final for the second year in a row.
Thwaite was proud to win the award but made his intentions clear by focusing on the next campaign with the club.
"On a personal note I'm very proud to receive this award," he said.
"And I dedicate this to the players and the support I have around me, especially my family.
"I can't wait to get stuck in with the young players next year.
"They had their own winning formula but the A-League is a different level and I'm looking forward to working with those players."
Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg admitted that the new club captain was a worthy recipient of the award.
"Michael is a very worthy winner of this award, he thoroughly deserves it," Bleiberg said.
"When he moved into the captain's role ... he showed what a great leader he is and always set the right example on and off the field. He is versatile, patient and always has time to spend with the young players to help and encourage them."
