Juventus fans' favourite Lilian Thuram has urged his old club to back coach Ciro Ferrara.
The Turin giants lost to Chievo on Sunday and were pushed out of the top four in Serie A.
Thuram told Gazzetta dello Sport: "It's typical of Italy to take it up with the Coach when the team loses some games.
"I don't think it's the right way to face the situation.
"In my opinion Ferrara is a very capable person. He played with Juventus for a long time and they need to give him faith. Let him work."
The 38-year-old World Cup winner then lent his support to Juventus President Jean-Claude Blanc.
"I have no doubt about the quality of Blanc who has done very well up until now. What I don't like about your country is that, in case of problems, you always focus on those who have little to do directly with the condition of the team."
