Tim Cahill will be cheering for Archie Thompson when the A-League Grand Final comes around next weekend. The Everton star said that he enjoys following the league and watching some of his Socceroos teammates from England and although he is close with Queensland Roar captain Craig Moore, the Melbourne Victory will be the team that gets his support.
"I get the A-League round-up and I obviously speak to Moorie [Craig Moore] and text a load of the lads," Cahill told au.fourfourtwo.com.
"It's great when we come back into camp to catch-up, but it's also great that we get to watch it here in England.
"It's exciting as you normally see Sydney FC up the top, in the finals and everyone talking and emphasising on that," he added.
"I'll be going for my mates Archie and Muscat. Sorry Moorie, but I'll be going for Archie and hopefully he'll do my goal celebration!
"If Archie is on form then he will win it single-handedly as that's the type of player he is, he's got goals in him. He is one of the brightest talents to come out of Australia and it puzzles me how he's not playing overseas.
"Archie's a very talented player and a very close friend of mine, so I'm cheering for Arch."
