Former Liverpool boss Phil Thompson is confident Olympique Lyon captain Nabil Fekir will move to Anfield.
A transfer for Lyon playmaker Fekir fell through at the final hurdle over concerns with his medical and knee injury history.
Despite the move falling through before the World Cup began, Liverpool could reopen talks after the tournament, having initially had a £53m agreement in place.
Thompson told the Liverpool Echo: “I like the look of Keita. He will give us more goals from that area and he's a nark – I think we need a bit of that.
“I still think the Nabil Fekir transfer could happen. The deal could get restructured after the World Cup in a way that fits all parties.
"I also hope that Jurgen is looking for an upgrade on the keeper situation. Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet are good keepers but are they top quality?
“Are they in the same bracket as Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea? The honest answer is no."
