Thomas back in training at West Brom

Jerome Thomas is back in training at West Brom.

The winger suffered a back problem, which initially threatened to keep him out of action for some time, potentially eating into his preparations for next season.

But the ex-Arsenal man believes he is over the worst and is feeling no effects of his injury.

"The back is completely fine," Thomas told the Birmingham Mail. "At the end of last season I was trying to do the work I'm doing now with the pain still. I just didn't help it, to be honest.

"I've completely rested it for five weeks from the end of the season.

"That was the plan and now I'm pain free and don't even think about it. I'm relieved and happy about it.

"Hopefully I can start the season even better than I did last season and take it all the way through.

"My main objective is to hit the ground running next season, score and create a lot more goals than I did last season, and keep West Brom in the Premier League.

"I just need to stay injury free."
