Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir says talks over the buyout of Inter Milan is progressing well.

Italian media sources say Thohir could complete the purchase of a controlling stake in Inter before September 1.

"I do not know when and if the transaction will be completed," he said. "There are other things that we have to settle with Inter, but everything is going in the right direction even though I do not know how long it will take.

"I want to take Inter to the top in the world, among the top ten clubs. Having a minority or majority share is important, we will see if we can agree."
