James McArthur has had his 2013 FA Cup winners’ medal stolen from his house.

James McArthur has had his 2013 FA Cup winners’ medal stolen from his house.

The Scottish midfielder helped Wigan Athletic defeat Manchester City in last season’s cup final but his silverware is now gone after thieves ransacked his home.

Also taken from McArthur’s residence were two weddings belonging to he and his fiancée in preparation for their wedding.

"I am devastated, as is my fiancée. The medal is priceless for me and this is a real blow to us to happen just before the wedding,” said the 26-year old.

"I am due to get married in the near future and this is an awful thing to happen to us before the wedding."

He added: "It is very upsetting. If anybody has any information as to where my property is and can help the police return it to me, I would be very grateful."
