Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara will triple his money going to Manchester United.

The Daily Star says the Spain starlet, 22, is on the verge of wrapping up a £17m move to Old Trafford to become David Moyes' first big-name signing.

Barca tried to get the red-hot talent to stay but he remains unconvinced that he will edge above Xavi and Andres Iniesta in the midfield pecking order.

And he stands to treble the wages he's currently earning at the Nou Camp by making the move to Manchester.
