Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara is determined to engineer a move to Manchester United this week.

The Mail on Sunday says Thiago will continue to push for a £15million move to Manchester United this week after being told by Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova that he cannot be guaranteed more games.

Vilanova has tried to reassure Thiago, 22, that he did form a crucial part of the club's future, but the player has grown frustrated falling behind Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas in the pecking order and wants to become part of the first XI, having made just 15 league starts for Barca last season.

He has also had an offer from Bayern Munich and interest from Manchester City.
