Barcelona may drop their pursuit of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas after Thiago Alcantara's debut on the weekend. The young midfielder was outstanding in victory at Villarreal.
Such was his impact, that AS says Barca may decide to stick with Thiago rather than block the youngster's progress by buying Cesc.
Last week, Thiago's Dad, the Brazilian World Cup winner Mazinho, said his son had no chance of progress if Cesc arrived.
Those comments were dismissed by Guardiola, who declared: "I believe more in the player and his chances that his own father."
