Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren was over the moon after capturing Florian Thauvin on Wednesday.
The 22-year old winger has signed a five-year contract with the Toon, joining from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, for a fee of £13million.
Thauvin arrives at St James' Park with Remy Cabella heading the other way to the Stade Velodrome.
After the Magpies completed the deal, McClaren spoke glowingly of the former Bastia and Lille young gun who will bring with him some creative flair to the north east.
"Florian is a player the club have been watching for a long time and I am delighted that we have been able to sign him," he told the club's official website.
"He is a perfect signing for this club – someone who is young, with great potential and is one of the best young players in Europe. He is an exciting, creative talent who can score goals and make assists, and we believe he will have a very bright future at Newcastle."
