Jurgen Klopp was pleased with Liverpool midfielder Emre Can on Sunday.

The German was able to subdue Manchester United star Paul Pogba throughout the north-west derby at Old Trafford, which ended 1-1.

"He did well, absolutely, but that's what I expect from him," Klopp said when asked of Can's display.

"This is his quality. You cannot be surprised when he has a good game and you should not be surprised when he sometimes has an average game, because he's still a young player.

"But that's his level and what he has to show."
