Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson intends to bid for Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips in January.

The Times says bringing Wright-Phillips back to Eastlands is a dream for City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra, who is releasing significant transfer funds for Eriksson to use during the winter market.

The Swede admitted yesterday he's excited by the players he's being offered by agents and intends to buy "only quality" when he transfer window reopens.
