Insurance firm AIA Thailand has confirmed a major sponsorship covering various football leagues in Thailand, including the Toyota Thai Premier League, reports SportsPro. In total the company will sponsor 34 teams across the top division, plus Yamaha League One and the AIS League.

The new sponsorship agreement is an extension of a previous deal struck two years ago.

"Our support for the 34 teams includes cash and personal accident insurance policies worth 380 million baht (US$12.9 million)," Ron van Oijen, chief executive of AIA Thailand, told the Bangkok Post.

"We want to see football development," he said. "The sponsorship also helps make Thai football fans know more about AIA."
