Thailand authorities back Leicester City owners after corruption claim

Thailand Airport Authorities have backed Leicester City's owners as they battle a corruption claim in their homeland.

King Power - the company of Foxes owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha - made their billions through the purchase of Thailand's airport monopoly.

The company has been accused by a Thai anti-corruption official of failing to pay £400m to the Thailand government.

However, the Airport Authorities have dismissed the claims as groundless.

Dr Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, president of AoTm said: "The claims do not relate to the airport duty free shop concessions, granted to King Power's affiliate, at all.

"The allegations that AoT and King Power have colluded to reduce concession-free percentage in respect of pick-up counters from 15 per cent to three per cent, which caused billions of Baht (Thai currency) of damages to the State, are absolutely untrue."
