Carlos Tevez wants to leave Manchester City to return home to Boca Juniors.
The Sunday Mirror says Tevez is ready to turn his back on becoming the best-paid footballer in the world.
Manchester City are willing to pay the Argentine international in excess of the £250,000 a week that Wayne Rooney earns at Manchester United to spend the peak years of his career at Eastlands.
Instead, Tevez has decided that his family must come before a fortune.
And he has stunned City by submitting a formal transfer request in the hope that he can return to Buenos Aires to play for Boca Juniors and be with wife Vanesa and daughters Florencia and Katia.
Sources close to the 26-year-old last night confirmed that Tevez has asked City to let him leave.
And while Spanish giants Real Madrid will head a host of top European clubs desperate to acquire his services, there is even a strong possibility that Tevez will retire from football completely rather than continue with the nomadic existence.
