Manchester City star Carlos Tevez insists winning the Europa League is a very important goal for the club this season.
The Argentine international is preparing for City's Europa League opener against FC Timisoara in Romania tonight and has made no secret of Roberto Mancini's, and his own, desire to win the competition and break a 34-year trophy drought at Eastlands.
"My hope is that I win something with Manchester City," Tevez said.
"I want to win here just as I did with Manchester United. That is what we are here for. I would love to do it.
"All the games are important and all competitions are very important.
"But the manager has made it clear how important the Europa League is.
"This is only the first game. There is a long way to go. But we have great players and there is excellent competition for places, which it is great to be a part of."
