Terry's attempts at mind-games fail to impress Man Utd boss Ferguson

Chelsea's John Terry has claimed that Manchester United might wilt under the pressure of leading the Premiership table. This has been met with disdain by Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson who heads into Saturday's clash with Wigan at the DW Stadium knowing victory would allow them to open up a 15-point advantage over the current champions, Chelsea.

The Blues take on United on Tuesday in a clash they need to win to stand any chance of retaining their crown.

Yet Ferguson, the master of mind games, dismissed the suggestion.

"You try things. We all try things," he said.

"But it won't be easy to come back from that kind of points deficit.

"I said some time ago, the team that is most consistent would win the league. That is why I stress that we have to keep our momentum going and get that consistency."
