John Terry is fighting for his future at Chelsea after comments from manager Jose Mourinho yesterday.
The Daily Star says Terry was desperate to hold talks with Mourinho about his future this week after falling out of favour under Rafa Benitez.
But that will not happen - and while his new boss insisted he will do everything to help Terry return to his best, he stopped short of saying that would be at Chelsea.
Mourinho said: "I know what he can give. Let's try to make him an important player again."
The Blues chief has a history of bombing out club legends, including iconic striker Raul at Real Madrid.
And he added: "I play the players I think are the best for the team."
