Terry, Lampard - no Chelsea player safe from AVB axe

No Chelsea player is safe as new manager Andre Villas-Boas cleans house. The Sunday Mirror says Villas-Boas will weigh up wielding the axe and rebuilding Chelsea's ageing squad.

His arrival in west London could signal the end for fans' favourites Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, and Nicolas Anelka.

Even the position of John Terry could come under threat as AVB looks to hit the ground running by ruthlessly tearing the squad apart.

He has informed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that he will make decisions that are likely to upset some of the established stars.

But Abramovich has no qualms about backing his new manager after activating a £13.3m buy-out clause in his Porto contract to bring him to Stamford Bridge this week.
