Terry knows new Chelsea contract now unlikely

John Terry knows his days at Chelsea are numbered. The People says the Blues board are determined to sweep away the club's old guard and have decided the skipper no longer forms part of their long-term plans.

The decision has been taken as much for concerns over Terry's fitness as the controversy which sees him serving a four-match ban for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

Directors only took the controversial decision to keep Terry on as club skipper because they feared a fans' backlash. But Chelsea's 'Captain, Leader, Legend' knows his days are now numbered at the club where he has spent his entire career.
