Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has not given up on signing Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery.

The Daily Mail says as part of Abramovich's pitch to convince John Terry to reject Manchester City, he assured his captain that they would still compete for the world's biggest names.

Despite losing out to Real Madrid for Kaka and so far failing to lure David Villa, Alexandre Pato and Andrea Pirlo, Chelsea will go back to Bayern Munich to make a concerted effort to sign Carlo Ancelotti's No 1 target, France midfielder Ribery.
