Terry indicates Chelsea players would like Hiddink to stay on

John Terry has indicated that the Chelsea players want interim manager Guus Hiddink to stay on with the club beyond the current season.

The Dutch manager, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in December, is expected to make way for a permanent appointment in the summer but the playing group would be open to him staying due to the good work he has done since replacing Jose Mourinho.

The Chelsea skipper told talkSPORT: "We've all kind of said it but the club's made that clear, he's made it clear as well (that Hiddink staying is unlikely).

"Certainly what he has done is put himself in the shop window. I bet there's a million clubs out there, seeing what he's done at the football club.

"Who knows? It might be an opportunity for him, or whether he'll stay in a role within the club I'm not sure. Both times Guus (has managed Chelsea he) has been perfect."
