The Sunday Mirror says Terry may be forced to take a pay cut to extend his Chelsea stay.

Terry’s contract is due to expire in 2014 and the club are unlikely to talk to the 32-year-old before the summer.

But given his age and recent injury problems, Terry cannot be certain of receiving a new offer and he is also very unlikely to retain his £175,000-a-week salary.

Unlike Ashley Cole, Chelsea already have ready-made replacements for centre-back Terry in Gary Cahill and David Luiz.
