Terry calls for Chelsea momentum over festive season

John Terry has urged Chelsea to continue their winning momentum through the hectic Christmas and New Year schedule.

The Blues have won their past two outings - against Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League and Crystal Palace in the Premier League - and saluted in four of their past five as they get set to tackle Sunderland in the Capital One Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night.

That fixtures precedes a plethora of matches between December 23 and January 5 and Terry wants a positive push during a testing time of the campaign.

"We go to Sunderland again on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup and then we have a really busy spell of league games over Christmas, starting with Arsenal away on Monday week," the Chelsea skipper said.

"With the games coming so regularly, it is up to us to build some momentum and push on in the league and the cups."
