Tennis player Murray offers support to Rooney

British No 1 Andy Murray tennis player has offered his support to frustrated England striker Wayne Rooney.

Murray admits he understands what the Manchester United striker was going through when he reacted to boos from England supporters following the disappointing goalless draw with the north Africans.

"When you're in the heat of the moment, when you have just finished the match, when things haven't gone as you would have liked, you can say things you don't necessarily mean,"
Murray told the Sunday Mirror.

"You can be upset or angry about the way you played and therefore say something that you might regret 20 minutes or 30 minutes afterwards.

"But it's difficult. There's obviously a lot of pressure on England to do well at the World Cup."
