Ten-man Central Coast Mariners hold Seongnam to draw

A-League Premiers Plate winners Central Coast Mariners have maintained their unbeaten run in the Asian Champions League by holding 2010 champions Seongnam Ilhwa to a 1-1 draw at Bluetongue Stadium on Tuesday.

Adam Kwasnik opened the scoring for the home side when he fired home after Daniel McBreen's initial attempt spilled to him five minutes into the second half but Seongnam answered six minutes later through EvertonSantos.

In the 62nd minute, Mariners full-back Josh Rose was shown a red card for a clumsy challenge in the area which prompted referee Kovalenko Valentin to point to the spot with Hevertinho firing his effort onto the crossbar in what was a huge letoff for Graham Arnold's men.

The final 20 minutes saw the Mariners push hard for a winner despite the man disadvantage but in the end they had to settle for a point which keeps them second on the Group G table on three points from three matches, equal with Seongnam, and one ahead of Tianjin Teda and Nagoya Grampus who are still set to play their third fixture.
