Out of contract Tecos defender Randy Scott Santana is on trial with New York Red Bulls.

The 26-year old Mexican trained with the MLS club on Monday and the Red Bulls are looking to strengthen their squad with a central defender.

"We brought in Randy based on the fact he has played a good amount of first league games in the Mexican league," coach Juan Carlos Osorio said after practice.

"This is a good chance for us to take a look at another center back and try to compare with what we have.

"We need to keep strengthening all of the areas. Hopefully, we'll see what he does and how he does for the rest of the week. But so far he has handled and held his own very well."
