Former England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor is interested in the Notts County post following Hans Backe's exit. Taylor admitted he was keen on the Meadow Lane job in the wake of Ian McParland's departure in October, with the Magpies opting to appoint Backe.
Taylor, who left Wycombe in October, took caretaker charge of the full England team for one game before Eriksson's appointment in 2000 and is hoping to hear from the Swede.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "I have not had any contact with Notts County but it is a job I would be interested in, the same as last time.
"Sven knows Hans very well and he chose him for the job last time but it might be a different situation now, you never know.
"I know the level Notts are at very well and I know a lot of players.
"It is all right me saying I would be interested though, it's up to the club.
"But it would be disrespectful for me to say I wasn't interested in the job because Notts County is a very good football club."
