Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has ambitions to begin next season better than it ended and for a higher finish at the end of the campaign. The St James' Park outfit brought the curtain down on a relatively successful season with a 3-3 home draw with West Brom after throwing away a three-goal lead.
"The players felt disappointed in ourselves and disappointed for the fans that afternoon, because I think they expected us to either get more goals in the second half or at least see the game out," the 25 year old told the club's official website.
"It wasn't a nice way to end things last season, but overall we did well and next season we can improve.
"We finished 12th so hopefully we can do even better."
