Taylor says he is fit for Newcastle start

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has declared himself fully fit.

Taylor was overlooked by Alan Pardew for their last game in favour of Sol Campbell as they were swatted aside 4-0 by a rampant Stoke outfit.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I'm fit for selection. I'm just waiting for my chance - it's as simple as that.

"Every game, you have to see what side the gaffer picks. That's all I can do.

"We can't get carried away. We've got to knuckle down and take it a game at a time.

"We have to be ready for a battle, because it's coming towards the end of the season. It's going to be tough against Wolves. They're getting some good results, and we can't treat them lightly, even though it's at St James' Park.

"We have to sort our home form out. Hopefully, we'll be OK. We'll take it one game at a time. All we're thinking of is getting three more points on the board."
