Everton are set to miss out on Birmingham City goalkeeper Maik Taylor.

Everton boss David Moyes wants Taylor to act as cover for Tim Howard at Goodison Park but Brum manager Alex McLeish said: "I believe we're close to agreeing a deal. I'm hopeful that he will sign because he can have a big role to play for us next season."
