Steven Taylor says Newcastle United's players can thank fans for their support this season with a derby victory over Sunderland.
"We need to send them home happy and that would be a lift for the city as well. They've been very frustrated this season, because it's been difficult, but they've stood behind us throughout. A win against Sunderland would top it off."
The defender added: "I'll definitely be telling the foreign lads what the Sunderland game means to the club, although I don't think I'll really need to do that.
"The attitude of everybody and the togetherness that's grown around the place has got us through it. That's why we're getting the results we're getting. No team talk will be needed for the game against Sunderland."
