Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor is learning French - so he can communicate with his new teammates.

The Toon defender unwrapped a bunch of CDs to help him learn French.

Taylor said: "It was my birthday in January and I got them as a gift from the family.

"I normally just get black socks - but they thought these would be useful now with so many French lads.

"My French is horrific but I'm trying to learn. Trouble is, the French lads use a different slang so it's not the same language I'm learning."
