Former England coach Graham Taylor feels Rio Ferdinand is seeing the beginning of the end at Manchester United.
In his column for the Daily Express, Taylor wrote: "There is no one better equipped to assess Ferdinand's future than Sir Alex Ferguson.
"He sees him every day in training, he is aware of the injuries the player has and he will be looking for little signs.
"Has he lost a bit of pace? Is he not quite getting to the tackle like he used to?
"The signings of Jones and Smalling are examples of first-class management.
"Sir Alex is saying: 'I have players here to take your place either right now, or in the future.'"
